TERRYGLASS IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION are delighted and honoured to be nominated to represent Ireland in this year’s 2025 Entente Florale Europe Competition. We’ll be holding an information meeting in the hall on Tuesday the 11th of February at 8:00 pm. All are welcome .

 

LAKESHORE LADIES GROUP TERRYGLASS will host a Crime Prevention Advice talk given by Community Gardai Maureen Finnerty and Alison O’Connell on Thurs 13 Feb at 3pm at Terryglass Community Hall. All are welcome, €5 fee for non-members. Refreshments will be served.

 

SHANNONSIDE IMPROVEMENT SCHEME re-convened AGM in Terryglass hall on 13th Feb. at 8.oopm.  Current committee is stepping down after long years of service. a new committee has to be formed.  Failure to elect a committee will lead to the scheme being wound up. With the loss of the support of the Dept of Social Protection. Once this happens, there is no going back. When it’s Gone, it’s gone!

 

KILBARRON TERRYGLASS HISTORICAL SOCIETY Our next talk is Friday 14th Feb, at 8pm, in Terryglass Hall,  Adm €5. We host Kieran Grace, Toomevara, who will speak on  ‘The Land War in North Tipperary, 1879-1882.‘ We will explore the reasons for the Land War, why the Land League was slow to come to North Tipperary, the Ladies’ Land League and the demise of the Land League. It will also look at the role of the Tipperary MP, John Dillon, in the setting up of the Land League in North Tipperary.
